13 Great Small Business Management Apps
May 20th
Recently, Salesforce highlighted 13 great apps that can help a small business keep operations organized, productive, and cost-effective. Here’s the scoop:
• Financial Management Apps. Quickbooks is a great traditional solution for keeping budgets and expenses on track, which also offers reasonable subscription plans. Mint is a quite powerful competing solution, and is totally free.
• File Storage Apps. Box and DropBox compete head-to-head to help you store files, access them remotely, and collaborate with team members. DropBox is free forever at low activity levels, however, and carries a higher iTunes store rating.
• Note/Document Apps. Evernote is great and totally free for jotting down and sharing notes, but the paid app Documents to Go takes the edge for document editing with their new guarantee: 100% format retention across all platforms!
• Communications Apps. Skype is a leading solution that delivers extraordinary functionality and call quality. If you aren’t happy with Skype, however, check out Webex.
• Customer Support Apps. Salesforce’s Desk is a very robust offering to help you connect with customers and resolve issues. Get Satisfaction is also worth consideration.
• Transactional Apps. If you need to swipe customer credit cards from your phone, Square’s reader is the gold standard. Strictly online merchants will probably need a solution like Google Wallet (aka Google Checkout).
This list probably has one or more solutions that can help you improve your business. If an app not listed here is critical to your operations, however, let us know in the comments below. We’re curious what apps people are relying on that may be flying under the radar and not getting their due.
